Jiu Jitsu Instructor Wins Gold in Hampton VA

Brendon Walzak, a Jiu Jitsu Instructor of Breakaway jiu jitsu won double gold in Hampton, Virginia.  After attending a recent jiu jitsu grappling tournament in Hampton, Brendon won two gold medals. The coach went 5-0 with 5 submissions (two heel hooks, knee bar, kimura and bow and arrow choke).

Brendon is not new to jiu jitsu and has trained for many years to become well respected as a Breakaway jiu jitsu instructor. He began his jiu jitsu journey in 2006 and was presented his blue belt by Royce Gracie in 2010, purple belt in 2014 and his brown belt by Breakaway jiu jitsu instructor (Rob Murianka) in 2019.

Brendon has won several other grappling tournaments throughout his journey and continues to serve his community as well.  He is the senior Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Newport News Police Department (NNPD) and has taught many specialized self-defense and military-specific combative courses.

As with all our jiu jitsu instructors, we are fortunate to have Brendon Walzak as a Breakaway jiu jitsu instructor right here in Hampton Roads!
